Step 1. Click and drag the link below to your bookmarks bar in your favorite web browser.

SEOinBOI is a Boise area SEO-themed event hosted by Josh Laughtland, Marshall Simmonds of Define Media Group and Kevin Gamache of Wirestone.

Not for SEO mind you, but for three of his favorite northwest hot springs destinations. Josh runs a couple websites specific to recreation of the geothermal sort (hot springs), which happen to bring in thousands of unique visitors each month.

His first geothermal website, IdahoHotSprings.com, started out as a hobby shortly after moving to Boise. It contains years of his personal trip reports besieged from many backpacking, hiking and backcountry driving adventures had throughout Idaho and the northwest.

Advocates for the West (our client) recently helped protect the Boise River from a mining company (Atlanta Gold), who was found guilty of contaminating the Boise River with ‘toxic levels of arsenic and iron’.

Thanks to the efforts of Advocates for the West and the Idaho Conservation League:

Monday January 9, U.S. District Chief Magistrate Judge Williams determined Atlanta Gold Corporation is illegally polluting ontezuma Creek, a tributary of the Boise River near Atlanta, Idaho, with toxic levels of arsenic and iron, constituting over 1,400 violations of the Clean Water Act.

This feat will help protect the Boise River from other mining companies with similar practices aside from stopping Atlanta Gold from currently polluting clean water.

A new Google began rolling out yesterday, which should be available to most people who are signed in and searching over the course of the next few days… coined ‘Search, plus Your World‘.

Google Search, plus Your World includes three new features, according to Google:

1. Personal Results, which enable you to find information just for you, such as Google+ photos and posts—both your own and those shared specifically with you, that only you will be able to see on your results page.
2. Profiles in Search, both in autocomplete and results, which enable you to immediately find people you’re close to or might be interested in following.
3. People and Pages, which help you find people profiles and Google+ pages related to a specific topic or area of interest, and enable you to follow them with just a few clicks. Because behind most every query is a community.
