In 2011, all seven continents joined the Earth Hour – One Hour No Power movement, even the Cartoon Network halted transmissions for one hour. In 2010, a record-breaking 126 countries helped raise awareness for climate change, including destinations like the Las Vegas Strip, Mount Rushmore, The Empire State Building and Niagara Falls. Jtree’s founder, Josh Laughtland, was recently featured in the February 2012 edition of Sunset Magazine. Grab the tablet edition…

Not for SEO mind you, but for three of his favorite northwest hot springs destinations. Josh runs a couple websites specific to recreation of the geothermal sort (hot springs), which happen to bring in tens of thousands of unique visitors each month.

His first geothermal website, IdahoHotSprings.com, started out as a hobby shortly after moving to Boise to attend college at Boise State. It contains years of his personal trip reports besieged from many adventures throughout Idaho and the northwest.

Josh has driven, hiked and spent multiple days backpacking through pristine wilderness to reach the Northwest’s most incredible hot springs.

He also helps operate CaliHotSprings.com, which features geo-location, interactive maps and detailed information about California’s natural geothermal wonders.

Boise River

Advocating for the Boise River

Boise-based SEO company, Jtree.net, provides not-for-profit organizations like Advocates for the West with a discounted rate – in the name of fighting the good fight.

We are very proud to be involved with organizations which effect the conservation of our natural environment. Advocates for the West (our client) recently helped protect the Boise River from a mining company (Atlanta Gold), who was found guilty of contaminating the Boise River with ‘toxic levels of arsenic and iron’.

Thanks to the efforts of Advocates for the West and the Idaho Conservation League:

Monday January 9, U.S. District Chief Magistrate Judge Williams determined Atlanta Gold Corporation is illegally polluting ontezuma Creek, a tributary of the Boise River near Atlanta, Idaho, with toxic levels of arsenic and iron, constituting over 1,400 violations of the Clean Water Act.

This feat will help protect the Boise River from other mining companies with similar practices aside from stopping Atlanta Gold from currently polluting clean water.
