In Boise? Yep. SEOinBOI #4!

Marshall Simmonds, Kevin Gamache and I would like to invite those involved the search marketing and optimization space in the Treasure Valley to our 4th meetup.

Last time, we had Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz speak, this time we’re going to turn it down a notch and watch Kevin juggle and ride a unicycle while reverse engineering Google’s algorithm. While that would rawk, the true agenda for SEOinBOI #4 is centered around open discussion.

Come with your ideas on what you would like to see at future meet-ups, and of course, any pertinent topics that you’ve got intel on, or would like to discuss.

Advocating for the Boise River

Boise-based SEO company, Jtree.net, provides not-for-profit organizations like Advocates for the West with a discounted rate – in the name of fighting the good fight.

We are very proud to be involved with organizations which effect the conservation of our natural environment. Advocates for the West (our client) recently helped protect the Boise River from a mining company (Atlanta Gold), who was found guilty of contaminating the Boise River with ‘toxic levels of arsenic and iron’.

Thanks to the efforts of Advocates for the West and the Idaho Conservation League:

Monday January 9, U.S. District Chief Magistrate Judge Williams determined Atlanta Gold Corporation is illegally polluting ontezuma Creek, a tributary of the Boise River near Atlanta, Idaho, with toxic levels of arsenic and iron, constituting over 1,400 violations of the Clean Water Act.

This feat will help protect the Boise River from other mining companies with similar practices aside from stopping Atlanta Gold from currently polluting clean water.

Happy Holidays!

It is that time of the year again. We’ve already had a generous helping of Buddy the Elf, and it’s not even December yet!

We’ve been movin’ and a shakin’ this holiday season no doubt. Now that Thanksgiving is past, Christmas and the New Year will be here in no time flat. Downtown Boise has been freshly decorated, no snow… yet!

Here are a few pictures taken near the office…

The Festival of Trees is presently underway (today is the last day), the Capitol Tree has been lit (above) and Black Friday has come and gone. Our friendly office neighbors, the Downtown Boise Association, have a complete schedule of events for Christmas in the City available on their website.
